5-S Management
5-S Management – “Structurise”, “Systematise”, “Sanitise”, “Standardise”, and “Self-Discipline” – is a skill set used by many large organizations today to maintain a quality environment. The benefits include improvements in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Image (SQPI).
Tai Hing Roast Restaurant introduced 5-S Management in 2002 and was the first tea café in Hong Kong receiving the 5-S certificate. In 2005, all its operation units have received the 5-S certificate (including back office, central kitchens and workshops and all branches). Since the implementation of 5-S Management, the operation effectiveness of the branches has been significantly improved. Apart from substantially fewer work injuries, the restaurants have been able to maintain a good level of hygiene and effective management. |
